SUMMARY:January Monthly Meeting with Vu Le: Imagining the Future Nonprofit
DESCRIPTION:Vu Le at AFP\nRegistration and breakfast – 7:30 am – 8:00 am Keynote: Imagining the Future Nonprofit – 8:00 am – 9:00 am In this sociopolitical climate\, nonprofits are pivotal to building a just and inclusive world. But we continue to face challenges\, including funding dynamics\, bizsplaining\, and chairs held together with duct tape. What does the future of our sector look like? How do we own our awesomeness and unleash our full potential? Workshop: Equity\, Diversity\, and Inclusion in Everyday Practice – 9:15 am -11:15 am Our sector has been talking a lot about DEI. But what does it look like on the ground? In this interactive session\, we will explore what actions we can take in a host of areas—board development\, fundraising\, evaluation\, hiring\, communications\, etc.—in order to create a vibrant\, inclusive world. “When life itself seems lunatic\, who knows where madness lies? To surrender dreams\, this may be madness… Too much sanity may be madness! But maddest of all is to see life as it is and not as it should be.” –Don Quixote \nAbout Vu Le\nVu Le (“voo lay”) is a writer\, speaker\, vegan\, Pisces\, and the Executive Director of Rainier Valley Corps\, a nonprofit in Seattle that promotes social justice by developing leaders of color\, strengthening organizations led by communities of color\, and fostering collaboration between diverse communities. Known for his no-BS approach\, irreverent sense of humor\, and love of unicorns\, Vu has been featured in dozens\, if not hundreds\, of his own blog posts at NonprofitAF.com\, formerly nonprofitwithballs.com. \n  \nMembers: $50 \n \nNon-Members: $60 \n \nMembers – Prepay for the Year: 9 Meetings for the cost of 8 (Does not include January Meeting)
