SUMMARY:Year End Appeals
DESCRIPTION:Join AFP Southern Arizona Chapter for our 2025 Educational Series!\nAugust Education Breakfast\nAugust 8\, 2025\n8 – 9:30 AM\n8 AM Breakfast & Registration\n8:30-9:30 AM Program \nCommunity Foundation for Southern Arizona Campus\n5049 E Broadway Blvd.\nTucson\, Az 85711 \nGetting Ready for a Successful Year End Appeal Campaign!\nPlan Winning Year-end Appeals\nSuccessful year-end appeals start with a written plan that documents every aspect of your print and digital communications. In this session\, you’ll use Abeja’s proprietary creative brief to think through the strategy\, creative requirements\, and partners you need to have in place. Plus\, attendees will get free access to the worksheets in Abeja’s new book\, How to Fundraise by Mail: A Digital Native’s Guide\, so you can save time\, money\, and headache in this critical Giving Season. \n\n\n  \nBrianna Klink and Laura A. Ingalls are the co-owners of Abeja Solutions\, a woman-owned small business that helps nonprofits nationwide master direct mail fundraising. They met at a large nonprofit in Phoenix\, where they planned and executed high-performing donor communications and trained thousands of nonprofit grantees across the U.S. and Canada. These small-to-medium organizations struggled to consistently ask\, thank\, and report impact back to donors\, especially in the channel most donors prefer: mail. With friends\, Laura and Brianna founded Abeja in 2014 to deliver a complete and affordable solution to direct mail fundraising. They recently co-authored their first book\, How to Fundraise by Mail: A Digital Native’s Guide.

SUMMARY:January Monthly Meeting with Vu Le: Imagining the Future Nonprofit
DESCRIPTION:Vu Le at AFP\nRegistration and breakfast – 7:30 am – 8:00 am Keynote: Imagining the Future Nonprofit – 8:00 am – 9:00 am In this sociopolitical climate\, nonprofits are pivotal to building a just and inclusive world. But we continue to face challenges\, including funding dynamics\, bizsplaining\, and chairs held together with duct tape. What does the future of our sector look like? How do we own our awesomeness and unleash our full potential? Workshop: Equity\, Diversity\, and Inclusion in Everyday Practice – 9:15 am -11:15 am Our sector has been talking a lot about DEI. But what does it look like on the ground? In this interactive session\, we will explore what actions we can take in a host of areas—board development\, fundraising\, evaluation\, hiring\, communications\, etc.—in order to create a vibrant\, inclusive world. “When life itself seems lunatic\, who knows where madness lies? To surrender dreams\, this may be madness… Too much sanity may be madness! But maddest of all is to see life as it is and not as it should be.” –Don Quixote \nAbout Vu Le\nVu Le (“voo lay”) is a writer\, speaker\, vegan\, Pisces\, and the Executive Director of Rainier Valley Corps\, a nonprofit in Seattle that promotes social justice by developing leaders of color\, strengthening organizations led by communities of color\, and fostering collaboration between diverse communities.
