She was the founding Executive Director of Media Defence\, a London-based legal aid organization dedicated to defending media freedom worldwide. \nGugulethu grew up in Zimbabwe\, from which she emigrated to the United Kingdom in 2004 after serving as In-House Counsel to Associated Newspapers of Zimbabwe\, then publisher of Zimbabwe’s sole independent daily newspaper. \nGugulethu has served on multiple boards of directors; she currently serves on the board of the Council of American Jewish Museums and Child & Family Resources. \nHer writing has been published in The Guardian\, The Independent\, New Statesman magazine and other publications. Liane Hernandez is the Director of the Women’s Leadership and Wellness Center (WLWC) of the YWCA Southern Arizona in Tucson\, AZ. In her capacity at the YWCA\, she and her team provide workforce development and empowerment workshops\, events around justice\, sustainability\, feminism and advocacy\, as well co-producing inclusion trainings. \nShe is a convener and works to create space for individuals and organizations to do the work of inclusive community building.
