DESCRIPTION:Join us for a presentation with Kristen Garcia-Hernandez\, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona \nKristen García-Hernandez serves as the Chief Executive officer of Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona.   She is a native Tucsonan\, a proud University of Arizona Wildcat and is honored to be the first Latina at the helm of the organization. \nShe is passionate about the work of Girl Scouting\, championing girl ambition and equipping girls and women with the confidence and know how to live life on their own terms\, whether that means being leaders in their own house or the White House. Kristen’s focus is ensuring that the 110-year-old organization continually innovates to remain relevant\, remove barriers to female leadership and move at the speed of girls today. \nKristen is active in her community.  She is a member of Women at the Top\, Women Presidents Organization\, Women’s International Forum\, and serves on the National Board of Advisors for University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management and the CALS College Career Center. \nShe’s been named one of Arizona’s 40 Hispanic Leaders Under 40 by Valle del Sol\, recognized as an Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Things by Eller College’s Professional Women in Business Association\, named an Up and Comer by Inside Tucson Business\, included Sunnyside School District’s ‘Sunnyside 100’\, and an honored Woman of Color by 100 Black Men of Phoenix. \nKristen and her husband\, Joseph\, have two beautiful children\, one of whom is a future Girl Scout. \n
